Wow. SharePoint 2010 has lot of new features. Everyone knows that. But, among all of them, the main thing I have really loved is the HTML markup generated for the SharePoint 2010. You know what? They have replaced the tables with Div and ul, li etc. So, this is a very good thinking and change from SharePoint team which likes by all and browsers. Everyone knows what are the problems with TABLES and in SharePoint 2007 you find many many tables. But not any more in SharePoint 2010. Below is the simple snaps... (more)

In SharePoint 2010 we can speak about a year continuously about the new features and APIs. They have included plenty of things and should be made developer life easy!!! The main definition both will use to load the data or objects you want from the SharePoint server. Then where is the difference? To reduce the confusion, first, we will discuss these in the Managed Client OM [... (more)

A much heard criticism of MEF is that the exports are configured with attributes, so if the exports need to be changed, recompilation of the application is required. In this post I'll show how to extend MEF using Linq to XML in such a way, that the exports can be configured in an external configuration file and the application no longer needs to be recompiled when the exports change. One of my customers is working on an Azure WCF service. When wanted to test the service with WcfTestClient, but we ran into some issues. We started the dev fabric and had the WebRole running on port 81. When we went to the WCF service metadata page at http://mybox:5101/ProdKService.svc, we got the expected web page, which states:   To test this service, you will need to create a client and use it to call the service. Windows Server 2008 R2 DNS Issues I recently upgraded my home Windows Server 2008 Domain Controller to R2.  The upgrade process itself wasn’t too much work but was a bit more than ‘next, next, finish’ because the AD schema needed to be updated and the installer required that WSUS be uninstalled first.  But, those weren’t a big deal. However, after the install, I got the strangest behavior.  Visiting some websites like www.microsoft.com, www.bing.com, www.windowsupdate.com and a number of other Microsof... (more)

On Windows 2008 RTM (SP1) you would install the FTP 7.5 Out Of Band module from http://www.iis.net/extensions/ftp. But when you try to install it on Windows 2008 R2 you will get the following error. This version of the operating system is not supported. FTP Service 7.5 for IIS 7.0 can be installed only on Windows Server 2008. Windows 2008 RTM (SP1) shipped with the legacy FTP service from IIS 6.0. Latter FTP 7.0 and 7.5 where shipped as Out Of Band Modules. Windows 2008 R2 already ships with FTP... (more)
